Recently, I had organised a conference “मन की बात,  Cvccon-2018” to promote vascular malformation treatment in India.  It got overwhelming response. I had to refuse minimum 150 delegates for registration due to restricted hall capacity. While trend in another medical conference is different, many medical conferences now do not get enough registration, conference hall is empty. Many conference organiser have stopped doing this kind of annual cme due to less attendance. Let’s find out reason to make my conference grand success without  any obvious effort.

I like this Sherlock Holmes dialogue “The world is full of obvious things which nobody ever observes,”   In past few years doctors are  over exposed to different pharma sponsored promotional conference.  Generally, Pharma Companies sponsored conferences have no useful topics. Which  over a period of time, no one is interested . This leads to  reduced attendance in conference.  But not a single organiser has tried to change and make it interesting thinking out of the box and plan the conference.  I had added few non-medical talks which are really useful in doctor’s life…..which has made my conference a grand success without any obvious efforts!

There are many obvious things around us which we give least importance but they are actually very useful in life. For e.g.: Saving small amount of money every day will compound in future & it will create good retirement fund. But who cares of this so obvious thing(savings) while buying luxurious car or lavish holiday for social proof.

In Sherlock Holmes words “The world is full of obvious things which nobody ever observes. These are obvious but will always be hard to pay attention to. There is nothing more misleading than ignoring an obvious fact.”

So friends try to give more importance to most obvious things first.
